Aims & Scope

Sustainable Polymer & Energy is an international and open-access journal that covers fundamental and applied science on sustainable polymers, and related energy storage and conversion technologies. It aims to provide an international forum for innovative research related to design, preparation, implementation, synthesis, characterization, derivatization, experimental techniques, and engineering application of sustainable polymers toward environmental sustainability and sustainable energy development. Along with the development of the new functional polymers, the potential application in lithium batteries, fuel cells, solar cells, super capacitors, piezoelectric materials, and so on also drop in the scope of the journal.

This journal aims to cover a wide range of subjects, from sustainable polymer to the design & characterization of energy devices, and technologies with functional polymeric materials integration.

Areas of particular interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Biobased polymers
  • Biodegradable polymers
  • Renewable polymers
  • Sustainable polymers
  • Plastic recycling
  • Lignin chemistry and polymers
  • Renewable resources and monomers
  • Life cycle assessment
  • Sustainable polymer catalysts design
  • Structure-property relationship
  • Synthesis, processing, and engineering
  • Polymers for secondary batteries including Li-ion, Li-S, Li-air, Na-ion, K-ion, Al-air, Zn-air, and Mg-air batteries
  • Design and preparation of polymers for improved energy harvesting and conversion efficiencies
  • Functional polymers used in fuel cells, solar cells, super capacitors, and piezoelectric materials
